North Design St Pancras Smart Key Cards
TweetWhat do you get when you cross one of the coolest hotels in the world with one of the most happening London agencies? An epic suite of contactless hotel key cards, thoughtfully designed to make the customer feel they’ve ‘arrived’ even before setting foot in their room.
Taking inspiration from the hotel’s elegantly restored interiors, design studio North's identity for the newly-opened St Pancras Renaissance exudes luxury and craftsmanship. The hotel’s key cards also embodied this look and feel. Using pantone and metallic ink, Oomph printed four different designs, giving each a silky matte finish. Not only do the key cards look the part, they feel the part too.
Powered by ingenious Mifare contactless technology, the hotel key cards just work, opening the doors to luxurious retreats without any hassle. Functional yet uber fashionable, the cards look the business and help operate the business too.
The IDM Ecocard Membership Cards
TweetThe Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing is Europe's leading body for the professional development of direct, data and digital practitioners. Being a marketing-centric institute, the IDM has to ensure all membership cards maintain and enhance the institute’s professional brand image. The IDM is also focused on reducing environmental impact where it can.
After listening to the IDM’s requirements, we pitched the idea of sustainable plastic cards. This was back in 2009, only a few months after we launched our innovative Ecocard. Since then, the IDM has used different types of Oomph Ecocard, including one made from sugar beets, potatoes and switchgrass. Today, the IDM brand has changed – and so has its plastic, ecologically friendly membership card. Made from 50% recycled plastic, it’s our bestselling Ecocard yet.
The IDM’s striking card design was printed using pantone ink for accurate colour reproduction. The cards are personalised too, with each one featuring member’s details. All cards are then included in a membership pack ready to post with a number of other items, helping ensure IDM’s members feel extra special.
Footfall 123 Tombo Loyalty Card
TweetTombo, Japanese for dragonfly: a symbol of renewal and positive force, is London’s first authentic Japanese café and delicatessen. Situated in the heart of the South Kensington museum district, Tombo offers a new experience in modern Japanese cuisine.
Awesome design not only features on the cafe walls, but now on their loyalty cards (thanks to the talents of Japanese designer, Natsko Seki). Natsko’s distinctive collage-style technique beautifully combines cut-out images and illustration to produce pieces that are witty, charming and uplifting.
Tombo has upped the Oomph by adding a little 2d barcode (aka QR or Datamatrix code) on the back. This code is used to increase footfall to the cafe, and also reward the customer while they’re there. The Datamatrix code (and Footfall123’s clever bit of software) can instantly create loyalty programs; run deals; or use gift cards to get people through the door. On the back of this Tombo uses Footfall123 to communicate through Twitter, email, SMS and print to get offers into the hands of customers which are then redeemed by scanning the card in store. Printed out of CMYK four colour process, with super glossy finish and variable Datamatrix code, these highly interactive loyalty cards have plenty of cut-through and are deliciously fun too.
